Sunday, with Nicole, my partner, we first talked about suburbs.
It's a word with a very different signification if you're in the USA or in France.
In LA, the suburb is like a lot of houses, not too big, which are rather small ans very similar.
An important thing is that they don't have a lot of public transports. They have to use their cars to move anywhere. It's very different than in France because we have a lot of public transports.

Here, you can see my parents' house.
Here, it's the house of Nicole's parents.

We also talked about our "student way of life". It's very different between France and USA. I explained Nicole the French system of education, but it's pretty difficult to do. She explained me how it works in the USA.
A principal difference is that in the USA, most students have to find a job to earn money, because studies are very expensive. In France, especially in "écoles supérieures", it's not possible to have a regular job, we don't have many time to that. Nicole told me that she works regularly in a car park on her campus.
An other intersting difference is about campus. We have in France public transports, like tramway in Bordeaux, very close to our schools. In the campus of Irvine, there's just a bus driving around the campus. A similarity between or two campus is that there is a lot of green areas (you can see photos under the text).
We also talked about parties, and how we make them.

First, you can see the main building of our school, ENSCBP. Under, it's a large green area close to our school.

This is the tramway station 'Doyen Brus', very close to our school. You can also see that there is bicycles, you can rent to move anywhere in Bordeaux.

It's a walk in the campus of Irvine.

Finally, we shared us very nice view points of our downtown.
