Last conversation

Last week, with Sosa we spoke about many topics. We started to talk about studies. He said me that he goes to school in bike every morning because he lives at only 2 miles of his university.  His major is biology but he also studies other classes like physics, physiology and French. He has about 4 class hours in a day and some practicals in lab. In America, the cost of studies is much higher than in France: he has to pay 36000 dollars for 4 years when I have to pay about 1000 Euros per year. But the study system is completely different: we have some timetable and exams well-defined during 3 years at school when he can pass the diploma when he thinks he is ready.

 

There is a similarity between the two logos, they look really angry !!

 

 

He has already a good idea about his future job. He wants to continue in medical sector to become occupational therapist. We talked about ambulance men that they don’t need to study whereas they are in contact with some accidents and have to save lifes. He thinks they should have to study at least medical classes.

We also talked about origins. Like my name “Couturier” suggests, I was born in France, my parents and I think my grandparents too. But, it’s not always the case: we have lots of multicultural families in France due to French immigration history.

Sosa was born in Mexico, so he is a first-generation American and his first language is Spanish. Now, he rarely speaks in Spanish and sometimes he has a feeling that he has forgotten some words but he keeps thinking in Spanish especially when he speaks French because the vocabulary is rather close between the two languages. Like I study Spanish again this year, he proposed me to talk in Spanish but I think I don’t have the level yet, maybe later, it could be fun I guess...

He tells me that he has done athletics like me and he was really strong but he is not the best anymore at university so he isn’t in the cross-country university team this year.

He shows me a photo of his disguise for Halloween this year. He has posted it on his article. I’m impressed: he might spend lots of time on the make-up!
