This week we had to talk about the city
where we grew up, the city where we study and to compare the suburbs.
I grew-up in Marmande, a small town with
20 000 people, located between Bordeaux and Toulouse, along the Garonne.
My entire family live here: my parents, all my grandparents, my uncles and
hunts, my cousins. I really love the life in the city, everybody knows each
other because it’s a small town and that’s cool. It is pleasant to live in the
countryside, it is calm and relaxing compared to the life in Bordeaux.
Here you’ve got my parent’s house, pictures of Marmande (the place and the bridge), and picture of the Garorock which is a big music festival which takes place in Marmande.
I lived there throughout high school, and after I took my Baccalauréat, I had to move on to Bordeaux to study. It is a totally different life there! There are so many people who live in Bordeaux, but when I arrived there, I felt lonely because everybody looks so busy and selfish to take care of people around them : people have a mentality totally different from people in Marmande. But I’m finally used to living here, I have met new friends and I love my student life in Bordeaux, there is many bars to go out and every thursday night all students go out and party, that’s really cool ! Moreover Bordeaux is a very beautiful city, and there are many things to visit!
Here
you’ve got pictures from Bordeaux, my flat, the tramway, the Place de la Bourse
and my school !
We also talked about the job she has : she is coaching a rhythmic gymnastic team of little girls which is great for her because she wants to become a teacher so it is a first experience with children. Rachel studies French but also Russian because her family has Russian origins. This language seems very difficult to learn because it has a different alphabet! Moreover she would like to spend a semester abroad, maybe in France so I told her to come in Bordeaux, it could be very cool to meet her and spend time together! She also proposed me to come in LA to visits her, I hope it will be possible!
We talk about girls stuff (like boys or television series) and we found that we have many things in common ! Can’t wait to skype with her!
She also says that the weather is great there and it is hot, so I’m jealous because here in France it is raining all the time, it is cold and I hate that …
